After the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions’ League, Hublot is once again preparing to experience and share magical football moments.
For the first time, UEFA and Hublot are joining forces for women’s football. Women’s Euro 2022 includes 25 days of football, 16 teams, 10 stadiums and a much-anticipated final at Wembley.
For the first time in 22 years, Germany will not be starting the tournament as title-holder, as the Netherlands have held it since 2017.
In a sign that women’s football is becoming increasingly visible, UEFA has already announced that the 2022 event will set new records in spectators and television audiences.
Following the example of its role as sponsor for UEFA’s men’s competitions, Hublot has worn the colours of women’s football since 2015 by supporting the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada and since 2020, the UEFA Women’s Champions League, UEFA’s Women’s Under-19, UEFA’s Women’s Under-17 and UEFA’s Futsal EURO Women’s champions League, the indoor hard-court football tournament.
These sponsorship deals confirm Hublot’s commitment to the sport’s values and the inclusive spirit of football. Through its commitments, Hublot also champions the values of the Together #WePlayStrong campaign, which fittingly aims to develop women’s football in Europe.
The watchmaker carries this commitment onto the pitches, with its two friends of the brand– Ada Hegerberg & Alexia Putellas. Ada Hegerberg, will play the competition on the Norwegian team (Group A) and will defend her country’s colours on the pitch, but together they both embody the spirit of women’s football.
These two sporting icons are on two different, inspiring paths, to bring the values of equality to the heart of football and even beyond.
Ada Hegerberg has been a friend of the brand since 2019. She is the star of the Norwegian women’s national team, the winner of the 2018 Ballon d’Or, and holds the record for the most goals in 2019.
Recently recovered from an injury that has kept her away from competition, she is making her return to the Norwegian national team for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022. Football is a family affair for Ada: she was inspired by her sister Andrine Stolsmo Hegerberg.
Now in turn, she is inspiring the new generation to play football.
Alexia Putellas has been a friend of the brand since 2021. She is the player with the greatest number of caps in the Spanish team.
Already a Barça legend, in 2021 she pulled off the double achievement: the Women’s Ballon d’Or and UEFA’s Women’s Player of the Year award. She started playing football at school where she already showed her leadership qualities.
Many dream of following in their path. These great players champion the values of courage, determination and heart through the #showyourheartcampaign.
At Hublot we love football, especially the dreams, the emotions and inspiration that it generates.
