Ian Isiah, musician, artist and family friend of the Chongs said, “She really had a gift, like she could create a whole map in a short head. As far as skirt trends go, this past year has undoubtedly been the year of maxi hemlines and micro minis. Midi skirts haven’t ever been “out,” but I did put them on the back burner momentarily. There’s always been a place for classic slip midis, but the more trend-forward and creative elements were always applied to the mini and maxi styles. However, as I took a deep dive into the latest market for summer, I was surprised to see a large variety of updated and elevated midi skirts. Think cargo styles, airy linen options, and colorful wrap skirts.
For 2023, any skirt length goes, but these midi options will have you impressed. I’ve gathered a diverse selection of skirts, whether you’re into having an ultra-colorful summer or much prefer a more pared-back aesthetic this season. The best part about these skirts? You may be buying them for the summer, but I can assure you of their year-round versatility. Simply take them into the fall easily with tall boots and an oversize sweater. Keep scrolling to see and shop the best skirts on the market that haven’t sold out yet.
Ahead of her Midnights deluxe album drop, Taylor Swift announced she would be working with everyone’s fav red-haired femcee Ice Spice. A collaboration that immediately sparked social media chatter. The announcement of the unexpected link-up comes after sparked rumors of Swift reuniting with former flame and The 1975 frontman, Matt Healy. Healy had some questionable things to say about Spice during his time on The Adam Friedland Show podcast in February but has since apologized.
Last week, Taylor Swift dropped the visuals for her cautionary tale anthem, Karma. A dreamy video is heavy in astrological symbolism, campy storytelling, and Ice Spice!
However, the visuals aren’t the only place we see this duo. During Swift’s Eras tour stop in New Jersey, Ice Spice made a guest appearance. She shined on stage, and not just because she delivered a great performance, her custom crystal look by Theophilio twinkled under the spotlights.

Spice slayed the stage in a black mesh catsuit adorned with black ostrich feathers on the arms and legs with a crystal-covered cut-out bodysuit, and, of course, ice in the form of a diamond Cuban link chocker. With her signature red curls coiled to perfection, the look did eat, bon appétit!
A funny thing happened to our dress sleeves the last few years — they ballooned to cloud-like proportions. This fashion writer’s hypothesis is that puff-sleeve dresses are what happens when fairytale escape meets stay-at-home comfort. The nap dress surely takes a lot of credit for kicking off this unexpected trend, but those frocks were more suited for indoorsy, (err, lockdown-y) life. These newer puff-sleeve dress styles, however, are explicitly for being seen in. And there are so many options available right now, whether you’re keen on the poofed-up tulle skirts or something more casual for daily wear.
